Once again found out that videos no longer worked due to an out of date plugin and the need to pay for a licence. Abandoned that and the videos are now back up and running.

We've added an extra chart showing Louis' weight against how many weeks old; makes it easier to read and compare.

Some interesting Linnaean dog terminology.

The Antipodes

News in from Sid in Melbourne. Inspired by Louis’ picture galleries he’s decided to send in a picture of his daughter, Amaya

and his dog, Chloe – which he swears has some Ridgeback in there.

Chloe is an “outside” dog and isn’t allowed in the house. (Shame on you Sid!). When we stayed with Sid many years ago we didn’t know this and, left alone in the house, we enticed her in but wondered why she was so reluctant. When Sid got home we found out!

Here’s one I made earlier

This is one of Louis’ sons; Ekka. He’s a KC Bronze Citizen already.

As can be seen he’s inherited Louis’ breed characteristic of “hogging the sofa”. Years and years and generations and generations of Ridgebacks have been bred to safeguard sofas. They clearly do a good job – we’ve not lost a sofa since Louis arrived on the scene!

Live in Leeds

Louis was on parade at the Midland & Northern Rhodesian Ridgeback Club open show today.

He did well, coming first in his class of Limit Dog of six dogs in total.

Louis behaved well all day but was glad to get back to his sofa and the control of the tv remote.

As he won his class he got a nice, shiny trophy – this made up for the fact that we had returned one that he’d won at the same show last year. It’s now on the mantlepiece along with the other silverware.

When will it stop raining?

Global warming means slightly warmer rain on this side of the Pennines.

The outcome of this is that bit by bit our garden is being brought in to the house on the bottom of four paws.
