Once again found out that videos no longer worked due to an out of date plugin and the need to pay for a licence. Abandoned that and the videos are now back up and running.

We've added an extra chart showing Louis' weight against how many weeks old; makes it easier to read and compare.

Some interesting Linnaean dog terminology.

Third in line…

Louis was on parade today at the Midland & Northern Rhodesian Ridgeback Club open show. He came third in his class (don’t ask how many there were in his class; safe to say there were more than two).

As a result Sue got her first rosette for showing Louis so we are very pleased. Louis is so delighted with the outcome that he’s decided to get his head down on the sofa and take a canine superstar power nap. Mind you, his power naps are ten hours long.

Crufts time

Well it’s that time of year when we head to the NEC for Crufts. Nice early start.

It’s the first time that Sue has ever shown Louis in the showring so picking the biggest dog show on the planet is a good place to start. They both did very well (I have to watch from behind a pillar so Louis doesn’t see me) but unfortunately we didn’t get a place. Well…..there’s always next year!

Here’s a pic of Sue and Louis squashed into the bench that you get to house a 45kg dog. Luckily the dogs either side of us were ringside so we got a bit of extra room.

Crufts is magic if you’re looking for doggie stuff. You can wander round for hours. I got Louis a new toy. Here it is…

It’s a Nina Ottosson dog brick. He’s tried it already and cracked it quite quickly. Well, well there’s a treat, there’s a way.

Crufts time again

After a lot of umming and arring Andy, Louis and I are going to Crufts. I will be showing Louis, (should be amusing). Really getting quite giddy about it.  Christmas over and New Year so we all need something to look forward to. Louis getting back to full pester mode. When Andy came home today it was as though he hadn’t seen him for a year. We are trying to get some unusual and cute photos of Louis for his site and blog, so watch this space. We have seen lots of really good sites that are full of fun photos and have decided Louis’ videos and pictures should be added when Andy has time.

Like Father, Like Son

Louis is progressing well with his Canine Good Citizen Silver Award training and, if all goes to plan, he should be taking his test in two weeks time.

He’s a bit behind his son, Eka, who has just passed his silver. Hopefully it’s in the genes.

In a surprising turn up for the books Louis is asleep on the sofa as I type this. Not often that you see him sleeping on a sofa! He was out today for a show and left around 6:30am so no doubt he’s a little tired. He’ll be out for a walk soon – it’s actually a lovely day out there for a change.

The last of the tools used on the BBM – the Big Bathroom Makeover – have been returned to the garage and the house is getting back in order. Sue is upstairs trying on clothes. She’s lost a fair bit of weight recently and is delighted to be able to get in some clothes that were relegated to the wardrobes some time back with a faint hope of seeing daylight again.
