Once again found out that videos no longer worked due to an out of date plugin and the need to pay for a licence. Abandoned that and the videos are now back up and running.

We've added an extra chart showing Louis' weight against how many weeks old; makes it easier to read and compare.

Some interesting Linnaean dog terminology.

There’s no failures…just dogs that aren’t ready

Louis took his Gold test last night and, unfortunately, didn’t pass. He did everything perfectly up to the walking to heel off lead and then he caught a scent of what we can only asume was the doggie scent equivalent of Elle MacPherson and off he went.

He’s been a bit hangdog all day as I think he must know he didn’t behave.

There’s another test lined up in a month or so; we’ll have to pray that doggie Elle doesn’t pee in the park next time.

I don’t mind the failure mode, after all I’m a boy too but I object to the fact that Sue cooked him one of my rib-eye steaks as the ultimate treat for use during his test! Rib-eye versus doggie-lady-pee = no contest.

Wonderful session on Thursday night.  I took Lou out for a two and a half hour walk that afternoon, a weigh in at the vets Р43 kilos Рfollowed by a visit to my mums.

At training he was a little skittish to begin with then after I rubbed the scent off his beloved brown long haired retriever he settled down to have a well behaved lesson in the great outdoors.

Gold tests are done outdoors so we need lots of practise and, even though I say so myself, he is doing well, when his head’s in the right place. I wormed Lou the other day so take full responsibility for his dodgy tummy and my Saturday lie-in.

Training off.

Drove all the way to Knutsford to find training off due to poor weather. Will we shrink in the rain? Walked round the park and watched the ducks then returned home.

Andy phoned; gave some great advice regarding fridge… switch it on and off. I wonder how I manage surly Andy; you shouldn’t really leave me to my own devices.

Andy are you going to blog sometime soon? Louis enjoys me reading to him he thinks you don’t care, or are the keyboards incorrect in the U.S. of A.

He’s just a hound…

Louis was at training last night and there was a lady dog who he was rather taken with. This involved lots of sniffing and, if he was separated from her, lots of howling. Poor lad. Sue brought him home early. He went from top of the class to bottom in just a few minutes!

He’s now helping Sue out with her addiction to crisps by stealing them off her.

I’m off to the States tomorrow. Another week away from home. I don’t think Louis has sussed that out yet.
