Once again found out that videos no longer worked due to an out of date plugin and the need to pay for a licence. Abandoned that and the videos are now back up and running.

We've added an extra chart showing Louis' weight against how many weeks old; makes it easier to read and compare.

Some interesting Linnaean dog terminology.

Farewell Louis

Well here’s the post I never wanted to write.

We had to say goodbye to our beloved boy on Christmas Day, just two days off his twelfth birthday.

To say we’re heartbroken is an understatement so I won’t say any more other than to thank Louis for being, as we always told him every day, “such a good boy”.

Louis’ Italian Cousin

Meet Luigi, a pizza addicted Rhodesian Ridgeback that bears a striking resemblance to Louis.

Friday is normally home made pizza night which entails “Luigi” making regular appearances in the kitchen on the off chance that the cheese is about to come out. Once that happens he won’t move until he’s helped distribute it along with any suitable toppings.

Can You See Me

Well, we’ve not posted anything on here for very nearly a year. Louis has been busy doing what he does best – lounging on the sofa and mooching for food.

He’s 11 1/2 now; still behaves like a pupster at times but he doesn’t have the energy to play for too long. He still likes to go for a walk but it’s not long before he slows and gets a little breathless.

We’ve had a bit of a hot spell the last week or so and, in defiance of his heritage, he’s really no good with the heat. We have to be very careful to make sure he doesn’t stay outside for too long. If he gets too warm we cool him down with one of his coats soaked in water. He knows when this is coming and scarpers.

Here he is is trying to hide at the back of the garden:-

We have a similar photo from the back garden of our last house. He hasn’t changed his hiding strategy in all those years.
