Marathon Walking.

Louis is pooped, after a cram packed fun filled walking playing and gardening day.

We started off lead down in the Valley for our morning walk; meeting Cassie and her owner. A little misty and cold this morning so scents were strong and Louis followed a few, always returning for his sausage. Play time on the flat field was a little short as I had to put Louis on his lead after I spotted a jogger in the distance; he still thinks they’re fair game.

This afternoon I got into the spirit of the marathon and decided to walk through Bramhall up to Poynton, past the sports club and pool and along the mad mile to the Fiveways pub. The longest part of the walk seemed to be from Hazel Grove, past the school and farmer’s fields to the roundabout even though this is the only downhill section. Louis did exceptionally well walking to heel for most of the seven mile walk. I will try to do this walk three times this week depending on the weather, Louis won’t enjoy it if its too warm.

Andy is on a mission to buy me some American size fours. I realize how hard this is as he has phoned several times; it may be a mistake but I have requested he buy me something he would like to see me in.

Louis’ last walk round the estate was slow and steady we haven’t managed Story-Ville yet but tomorrow I think we will.

I’ve planted more mixed herb salads and rocket, as usual Louis always at hand to assist with soil distribution.

Our neighbours from the back came round to collect a ball; luckily Lou hadn’t spotted it so Thomas the Tank engine ball lives to play another day. The guy is called Tom and his son is Lennie I think, he is 3 and a 1/2 and loves Lou. His dad obligingly holds his boy up over the fence to see the dog, makes me cringe every time. Lou has settled down and has stopped jumping at the fence trying to eat him.

We miss you Andy, tomorrow I have work,  weight watchers and the usual walks with your boy so hopefully the day will fly by and you will come home in six days.

  2. We would love you to come out and walk with us, I would let you hold the lead too. Not even Andy gets that honour, very often. When you all visiting? Hope you’re all fit and well.
    Love Sue and Lou.
